OBJECTIF: Evaluer le trastuzumab dans le traitement des cancers bronchiques non à petites cellules (CBNPC) avancés.

REVUE DE LITTÉRATURE: Littérature clinique obtenue à partir de MEDLINE, d'Embase, d'IPA, des comptes-rendus de la Société américaine d'oncologie clinique, et de Genentech.

RÉSUMÉ: La recherche a mis en évidence que des spécimens de CBNPC étaient susceptibles d'exprimer la protéine HER-2/neu. L'anticorps monoclonal dirigé contre HER-2/neu, le trastuzumab, pourrait se révéler utile pour les patients concernés. Il a été conduit une évaluation des études relatives à l'emploi du trastuzumab dans la prise en charge des CBNPC.

CONCLUSIONS: Les données cliniques issues de certains essais de phase 2 montrent des résultats encourageants quand le trastuzumab est associé à une chimiothérapie de référence. Le bénéfice final dans les CBNPC reste à prouver.
