Importation et Sécurité des Médicaments en Provenance du Canada

L'importation de médicaments en provenance du Canada est un sujet controversé depuis plus de 10 ans. Plusieurs croient que cette pratique pourrait créer une compétition plus que nécessaire et entraîner une réduction des coûts des médicaments. Les opposants à cette mesure affirment que les coûts reliés à l'assurance de la qualité et à la sécurité des produits importés, de même que les coûts additionnels engendrés par le système de soins découlant de cette pratique seraient comparables aux économies générées. Les différences et les implications d'importations dites personnelles et commerciales sont discutées, de même que les prix de médicaments génériques aux États-Unis. Les problèmes des pharmacies Internet au Canada sont abordés, incluant les risques de revente de médicaments contrefaits. Finalement, les coûts des médicaments aux États-Unis constituent un problème national et les solutions envisagées ne devraient pas impliquer les pays voisins.
