Abus de Substances: Nouvelles Données, Besoin d'Agir

L'abus de substances est un problème très prévalent. Un sondage épidémiologique national américain, portant sur la consommation d'alcool et les conditions associées, a révélé qu'un américain sur 10 aura un problème d'abus de substances au cours de sa vie. Les pharmaciens sont des professionnels tout désignés pour intervenir auprès de ces individus. Ils prodiguent presque quotidiennement des soins et services à des patients présentant un problème d'abus de substances. L'abus de médicaments prescrits atteint aussi des proportions épidémiques. Les résultats de cette étude récente sont présentés et des suggestions de stratégies éducationnelles et d'interventions sont aussi proposées pour aider les pharmaciens à s'attaquer à ce problème national.
