Perception des Patients des Informations Reçues lors de Début d'un Traitement sous Inhibiteur Sélectif de la Recapture de la Sérotonine: Implication des Pharmaciens Communautaires

OBJECTIFS: Évaluer la perception des patients lors de la remise d'information pour le début d'un traitement avec un inhibiteur sélectif de la recapture de la sérotonine (ISRS) afin d'identifier les besoins d'information et le rôle du pharmacien communautaire dans la remise d'information.

MÉTHODES: Une étude qualitative avec entrevue semi structuré a effectué chez des patients qui ont reçu une nouvelle prescription d'un traitement avec un ISRSA. Les patients ont été recrutés dans six pharmaciens communautaires de la Hollande. Les thèmes suivants ont été discutés dans les entrevues: type d'information obtenu; besoin non rempli; intervenant préféré pour la remise d'information et rôle du pharmacien.

RÉSULTATS: Quarante et un patients ont participé à cette entrevue. Les besoins des patients au niveau de l'obtention d'information étaient différents selon les patients; cependant, dans l'ensemble, les patients ont mentionné qu'ils aimeraient avoir de l'information adapté à leurs besoins. Plusieurs participants avaient besoin d'information pratique et concrète au lieu d'information sur les effets indésirables et le début d'action. De plus, l'explication du terme dépendance dans le contexte de l'utilisation d'un ISRS et la discussion de l'utilisation et l'innocuité à long terme étaient importantes pour les patients. Le rôle du pharmacien était généralement perçu comme étant limité et plusieurs patients ont identifié des barrières au niveau de la communication soit le moment de la remise d'information; le manque de temps et l'absence d'aire de confidentialité, un manque d'empathie, une manière très protocolaire de remettre de l'information et des techniciens inexpérimentés.

CONCLUSIONS: Les patients débutant un traitement sous ISRS aimeraient recevoir des informations personnalisées à leurs besoins. Le pharmacien communautaire en association avec le médecin peut avoir un rôle important dans la remise d'information aux patients.
