OBJETIVO: Comparar los estándares de esterilidad y el costo de los distintos opiáceos disponibles para la administración intraespinal.

FUENTES DE DATOS: La ruta intraespinal se usa comúnmente en el manejo del dolor. Es importante seleccionar cuidadosamente el fármaco a ser administrado por esta vía. Se evaluaron las guías sobre esterilidad de productos y compararon los costos entre ellos.

SÍNTESIS DE DATOS: Se condujo una evaluación de la literatura a través de MEDLINE y otros sistemas de búsqueda por Internet. Los términos de búsqueda incluyeron epidural/intratecal, opioides, esterilidad, y composición.

CONCLUSIONES: Los productos libres de preservativos para la administración intratecal y epidural son las mejores alternativas por sus controles estrictos de calidad. La morfina genérica libre de preservativos también puede considerarse si se asegura que el producto final tiene la dilución correcta.
