DRUG INFORMATION ROUNDS

OBJETIVO: Revisar la literatura sobre el tratamiento de la migraña con sumatriptán durante el embarazo.

FUENTES DE INFORMACIÓN: Los estudios y los informes fueron buscados en el International Pharmaceutical Abstracts desde el 1970 hasta septiembre 2003 y en MEDLINE (desde 1966 hasta la tercera semana de septiembre del 2003).

SÍNTESIS: Se evaluó la literatura que describe el uso de sumatriptán para el tratamiento de la migraña durante el embarazo.

CONCLUSIONES: La literatura consultada no ha demostrado evidencias concluyentes de teratogénesis asociada al uso de sumatriptán mayor que el riesgo de la población general.
